IMPORTANT:The Metropolitan Transit Organization is seeking public input on transportation projects in our area. FM1103 has significant traffic and it is anticipated to become much more traveled with Cibolo's projected growth. To alleviate this problem, several years ago it was proposed that TxDot widen 1103 to four lanes. At this point, the requested project has been put into the Metropolitan Planning Organization (FY 2013-1016, Surface Transportation Program- Metropolitan Mobility) Program along with about 72 other programs totaling ~$964M. Unfortunately they anticipate only having ~$50M or about 5% of the requests.
We need your help to 'encourage' the MPO to fund the FM1103 expansion. The MPO is holding five more meetings in the San Antonio area and your support and 'vote' is required at each of these meetings.
You can see this is a situation in which more people 'voting' at every meeting increases the opportunity to obtain necessary funds for Cibolo's project. The only info they request is what projects you support up to ~$60M, the date and your zip code. You don't even have to live in the area to vote for the project that you support. This is not a toll road project. If we get funding, this will be the first time in many years that Cibolo has received highway funding.
Please contact every one you can and request that they attend as many of these meetings that they can and 'vote' for the 1103 Cibolo project. The next meeting is on 13 Feb and the last is on 23 Feb... we don't have much time. The schedule and locations are on the attached map.
The Texas Department of Transportation is hosting two community meetings related to future plans of Interstate 35. TXDOT is in need of your input as citizens who will be effected the future of Interstate 35. For additional information on these meetings please click here.
The City of Cibolo welcomes the Del Rio family. On January 18, the city, residents of Buffalo Crossing and supporters participated in a ceremony at the future home site of the Del Rio family.
