Project Lifesaver

Client Enrollment Interest

Project Lifesaver is the premier search and rescue program operated internationally by public safety agencies, and is strategically designed for “at risk” individuals who are prone to the life threatening behavior of wandering. The primary mission of Project Lifesaver is to provide timely response to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children with the propensity to wander due to a cognitive condition. The Cibolo Police Department has training and equipment through Project Lifesaver International that assists with locating individuals signed up with the program. Participants receive a wristband with a tracker that can only be located by the specialized equipment owned by certified agencies. Participants check in once a month with program personnel to do a battery exchange and locator testing. The band can be worn on the wrist or ankle and can only be cut off. Special leather straps are available as well. The cost for each locator and band is $350.00. CPD is working on obtaining funding to make the program at no cost to residents on a first come, first serve basis. If a caregiver would like to purchase the system, the individual can be enrolled and not placed on the waiting list. The program is for Cibolo residents only. We hope to launch this program Spring 2018. If you would like to get on the waiting list for the program, please complete the form below.
