Project Update 11/23/22

Dear Cibolo Resident/Business Owner,

In consultation with our downtown businesses and our contractor, we have elected to make a change to the scheduling and scope for this pavement maintenance project to reduce the potential impact to our residents and downtown business district during the very busy holiday season. To accomplish this goal, the project will now be divided into two phases - Segments 8A and 8B. Segment 8A will start at FM 1103 and will stop at Schlather Street. Segment 8B will start at Schlather Street and will stop at FM 78. Segment 8B has been rescheduled to be completed in early part of 2023, once temperatures improve for paving activities.

We are ready to start the pavement maintenance (mill, repair, and asphalt overlay) planned for Segment 8A. For us to facilitate this work we will close North Main Street to through traffic from FM 1103 to Buffalo Trail starting on November 28th running through December 2nd. All residents in this section will continue to have access to their driveways except when the actual work will be occurring in the southbound lane at their specific residence. During this time, residents will be able to park their vehicles along the curb on the opposite side of Main Street. When work is occurring between Buffalo Train and Schlather Street, the contractor will have flaggers along Main Street to manage traffic flow. The contractor will ensure residents will be able to access Bramblewood and the alley behind Schlather Street while this work is completed. We expect all roadway work to be completed by the end of the day December 2nd. We do not expect to have any overnight work with this project, but we do expect the contractor to start work at approximately 7:00am each day.

We are very excited to complete the first phase of this pavement maintenance project in a very timely manner, prior to the Christmas holidays. We understand that this may be a short – term inconvenience for some of our residents and a few businesses, but we are committed to completing the necessary road repairs as quickly and painlessly as possible. We hope that you will reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. You can reach the Cibolo Public Works Department by calling 210-658-9900, Extension 3164.

Professionally,
