Updated on February 17, 2021

Due to the incredible cold and winter weather forecasted, Cibolo is responding on all fronts as the impacts continue to grow.

City offices and lobbies will be closed on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 through Thursday February 18th, 2021 and expected to reopen on Friday February 19th, 2021.  Our essential workers (utilities and first responders) will continue to respond to calls. Trash collection is suspended until February 19th, 2021.

DON’T DRIVE, STAY OFF THE ROADS. Melting snow and ice is a dangerous mix. As more vehicles travel, it is compacting the snow, reducing what little traction there is and causing it to turn into ice.

Our Streets Department is working to block off streets that are impassable - please continue to watch for updates. If you see an orange barrel or barricade blocking a road DO NOT GO AROUND IT. If you come upon a hill that is not blocked off, just assume it is ice-covered and don’t try to drive up or down it.

Our utility crews are on standby and will be able to respond to potential water/wastewater problems should any city-maintained pipes have any issues. If you have a city-maintained water/wastewater emergency, please contact non-emergency dispatch at (210) 619-1200. If you do call, please be patient and know we are working to respond to every call for service as QUICKLY AND SAFELY as we can.

ENERGY CONSERVATION TIPS

• Lower your thermostat to 68° or lower
• Turn off and unplug non-essential items
• Close shades and blinds to prevent any heat loss through windows
• Need an excuse to not do laundry? This is it. Unplug that dryer.
• If you have a space in your home not being used (guest room, office space) close the air vent and close the door. Only heat critical areas in your home.
