Hank Reyes will be Cibolo’s new finance director. After an extensive search, Reyes was selected from more than 25 applicants to serve in this role. This is a vital position for the City of Cibolo to help our city prosper while being fiscally responsible.
Reyes is currently serving as the budget consultant for the City of Cibolo. He has been assisting with budget preparations over the past three months to help create a fiscally conservative budget that is balanced. He has been working with the new City Manager, Wayne Reed, to meet the themes for this fiscal year and help build the framework for future budgets.
“I am thrilled to be able to work for a fast-growing community. I have always thrived in developing plans to harness the growth by making fiscal procedures that continue to propel the community forward,” said Reyes. “Cibolo’s hometown feel and community base is second to none, and I am glad they have chosen me to be a part of the growing Cibolo family.”
In Cibolo, Reyes will oversee the Finance Department, which consists of Accounting, Utility Billing, and Human Resources. Reporting directly to the city manager, the new director will have responsibility for a team that has a very diverse and widespread reach into all aspects of City Government.
“I am excited to have Hank join team Cibolo. He brings a skill set that will help us strengthen the oversight and budget management for our funds that we will need as we continue to experience strong growth,” said Wayne Reed, City Manager for Cibolo. “Hank has been here since my arrival, and he has demonstrated the ability to be a strong team player and a perfect fit for our Cibolo staff.”
Prior to coming to Cibolo, Reyes has been dedicated to public sector finance for local government and nonprofits for the past 20 years. He has achieved success in managing large county and nonprofit capital and operating finances in one of the country’s most rapidly growing communities. Hank has served as the Budget Director for Bexar County and has consulted for many nonprofit organizations in finance and strategic planning. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and a Master’s degree in public administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
