ADOPT A PET

Document (2)Every year in the United States, between 8 to 12 million animals enter shelters. This includes dogs, cats, and other animals, and these shelter intakes are about evenly divided between animals that are surrendered to the shelters by their owners and strays that are picked up by animal control workers.

Document (1)At the same time, of about 60 million dogs and 75 million cats owned in the United States, only 10 to 20% are adopted from shelters and pet rescue organizations. By adopting animals from a shelter or a rescue ensures that these animals find permanent homes. So, if you are looking for a pet, please come see what pets we have available for adoption. We are located at 108 Cibolo Dr. Building #3, Cibolo, TX 78108, and our adoption hours are Monday - Saturday, 8 AM - 5 PM.

Helpful Guidelines When Considering Adopting a Pet
  • Don't make a spur of the moment decision to adopt. Seeing a cute, furry animal in the store window, or your children hounding you, are not good reasons to adopt.
  • Consult the whole family. Everyone who has to live with the animal should be in agreement before adopting the animal. Everyone should consider his or her involvement in the care of the animal. If you have small children, consider who will care for the animal once the kids lose interest.
  • Consider your lifestyle. Consider all issues related to the effect the animal may or may not have and how you may need to adjust. Do you travel a lot? Are you away from the house a considerable amount of time? Will you have the time to train, socialize and offer companionship to a new animal?
  • Evaluate your living accommodation. Do you rent or lease? If so, there may be a pet deposit or pets may not be allowed at all. Consult your leasing company or landlord before adopting.
  • Consider your available budget. Adopting a pet requires you to consider the amount of time and funding it takes to provide food, shelter and medical care for the animal.
