Certification and License Requirements

• Structural Firefighter Certification by the Texas Commission of Fire Protection [TCFP]. 
• EMT-B certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services [DSHS], 
• Requires a valid Texas Class “B” Exempt driver’s license [must obtain within 6 months of hire]

Hiring Process
Step 1: Apply and submit the application online
Step 2: Pass the written exam and complete the required Physical Ability Testing (P.A.T.) with a passing time. Please visit the CFD Candidate Study Guide for reference.
Step 3: Panel Review Interview
Step 4: Oral Board
Step 5: Fire Chief Interview
Step 6: Conditional Job Offer
Step 7: Complete the background investigation process
Step 8: Complete drug screening
Step 9: Complete medical/physical exam
Step 10: Begin Cibolo Fire Department probation!
